NON+ X Fruzsi Fekete Jewelry

We take every opportunity to tell NON+ fans how important Hungarian design is to us and how much we enjoy working with Hungarian creators. For our latest SHADOW collection, we were able to collaborate with two Hungarian designers: the fabric pattern for the collection was designed by Viola Balázs, and the jewelry collection that perfectly matches the clothes was dreamed up by Fruzsi Fekete , and we would like to introduce her to you now!

Fruzsi Fekete graduated from MOME as a jewelry designer in 2018. Her masterpiece, the brooch series "Impressions", examines the relationship and opposing functioning of conscious and intuitive moments that occur during the creative process.

Intuition and the contingency of each movement, as well as the resulting unique and unrepeatable character, have been the defining gesture of Fruzsi's design approach ever since: the form-creating attitude that gives room to randomness can also be found in his later " Leaves" and "Curves" collections, which are exciting, playful and very lovable at the same time. You can feel in the pieces born in this way that they were made with joy and great devotion, which, in addition to the aesthetic quality, endows the jewelry with a special value, making wearing them even more of an experience.

Fruzsi's brooch titled “Mistake on Purpose” has been enriching the collection of the Hungarian Museum of Applied Arts since 2020.

Fruzsi Fekete Jewelry's jewelry fits perfectly into the world of NON+ in terms of style and clean design. Fruzsi makes her jewelry using the so-called lost-wax technique: she shapes the base of each piece by hand from wax, making each piece unique and unrepeatable! The special thing about the pieces designed for the SHADOW collection is that they were made specifically for NON+, and since the process is quite time-consuming and meticulous, only 2-3 pieces of each piece of jewelry were created.

In addition to designing her own jewelry collections, Fruzsi has been organizing the capital's most important annual contemporary jewelry event with her team as a member of the Jewelry Night group since 2018. This year, the two-week super program will present the works of the world's leading jewelry designers in Budapest between August 28 and September 12 .

The international exhibition is titled IDOL. Its aim is to build a bridge between the past and the present. An important goal of Budapest Jewelry Week is to delight its audience with an exhibition that has never been seen before in our country after the difficulties of the past year and a half; the works of contemporary jewelry designers from the past 40 years will be brought together under one roof, within arm's reach. So if you are even slightly interested in the world of jewelry, this event is not to be missed: during the two weeks of the event series, there will be guided tours in English and Hungarian, as well as online and in-person lectures on the topic of contemporary jewelry by internationally recognized jewelry designers and curators.
