A gyakorlások alapja a tudatos figyelem: a test érzeteinek finom észlelése, a mozdulatok áramlásának követése, a légzés természetes ritmusához kapcsolódva. Ebben a folyamatban fokozatosan eltávolodunk a külvilág ingereitől, és egy csendesebb, rendezettebb belső állapot felé haladunk.
